Nui hosts Canadian Rugby Players

Canadian Girls Rugby Team hosted by Taupo-nui-a-Tia College

Yesterday we were honoured to welcome a Canadian Rugby Team to our school. At 1pm, a powhiri was held on the school marae, followed by a game against our girls team at 3pm. The Canadian team has arrived from a private boarding school, Shawnigan Lake School on Canada’s West Coast and will be touring NZ for 10 days.

During their time here, the girls have traveled to the Coromandel and played against Mercury Bay Area School, visited us here in Taupo, and will now head to Papamoa for some down time. From there they head to Fielding to play games against Fielding High school, followed by a brief visit to Waitomo Caves before flying home.

Huge thanks to our Nui whānau who billeted the girls during their two nights in Taupo. They had a great time and it is through your support and generosity that we can facilitate these opportunites. We wish the girls all the best for the remainder of their time in NZ.
