Equestrian Team train hard

On Friday 31 July, our Equestrian Team had the opportunity to participate in a training day held at the National Equestrian Centre and hosted by Taupo Intermediate.

The day started with a very informative presentation by local Vet Tony Parsons.  Next came learning to build and decorate a show jumping course, followed by walking the course with an experienced judge who gave the students tips on riding each obstacle.

After a light lunch the girls got to ride.  Horses and riders were worked on the flat with local Event rider, Holly Rose. They then moved on to jump the course they had built, under the watchful eyes of international show jumping coaches, Toni and Colin McIntosh.

It was a fun day that was appreciated by all who attended.  Thanks to Abby Garland for organising this event for our students.
