Last night, our Boys 2nd XI Hockey Team were privileged to have Paula from Bad-Ass Training attend their training.
Paula ran the boys through the importance of stretching and it was eye-opening for the team to realise how tight a lot of their hamstrings were. She got them to do a ‘test’ of their flexibility and the results were pretty shocking for some of the boys! It’s safe to say her tips for pre and post-game stretching will be included for trainings and games for the rest of the season.
On top of stretching, Paula offered some advice on nutrition for teen athletes and the boys were amazed at seeing her 3 year old burger and fries (hello preservatives!) and learning a bit about what food is best to fuel up when training. Despite a few boys offering to taste-test the ancient burger, they all took away a few lessons about real food and what to include in their diet for better health.
