Today, we held our Year 9 and Year 10 Speech Finals. We were blown away by the talent and tenacity shown by the speakers who performed in front of an audience of their peers.
The Year 9 Speakers were: Avery Way-Ferguson, Alexandrea Borja, Evie Ross, Grace Brandao, Gwen Holmes, Kate Spriggs, Joudy Zaky, Nile Jones, Oliver Behling, Sienna Allen, and Will Hunter
The topics were varied, with a broad range of issues like animal testing, time management, financial literacy as well as discussing the battle between the generations and nature versus nurture.
The Y9 runner-up was Avery Way-Ferguson and the winner was Gwen Holmes.
The Year 10 speakers were Aaron Foster, Elliot Turquier, Kevin Manawadu, Salma Azrulnizam, Sharlise Downie, and Sorenne Crandall. Y10 topics again were diverse with topics such as Vaping, Healthy Eating, Women’s Rights, Words Matter, Friendship, and Sri Lanka explored.
Our Y10 placings were Kevin Manawadu in 3rd place, Aaron Foster was runner-up and Elliot Turquier received first place.
