Congratulations to our Senior Badminton Team!
Yesterday, one boys and one girls team attended the annual regional secondary schools competition held in Turangi. The students compete for the Hardisty Challenge Shield and it's always hotly contested, particularly between Tauhara and us.
This year we managed to come out on top and retain the shield for the third year running.
Our students showed exemplary behaviour and attitude. They also showed great sportsmanship to other players and were always willing to help umpire. We were one man down and a student from Tongariro College stepped in to help. Our students supported him and thanked him.
Not only did the team win the overall shield, they also took out both the boys and girls divisions. So gold medals all around.
Congratulations everyone and all the best to our Year 13 students who have just competed in their last tournament for the school and well done for coming out on top!
