Twelve of our Year 9 students had the amazing opportunity to attend the Waikato Young Leaders Day at Waikato University this week. The morning was packed with inspiration as they heard from a range of speakers including a High Performance Para-Athlete, an Armed Offenders Squad officer, a professional DJ, and some Head Prefects from schools around the Waikato — all sharing powerful stories of leadership, resilience, and purpose.
In the afternoon, students took part in hands-on workshops, brainstorming ways to activate leadership within our own school community. Their ideas were creative, practical, and full of potential!
We’re incredibly proud of how our students represented the kura and can’t wait to see them put their new leadership skills into action next term.
