Recently, Grace Hura and Te Aomarama Ryan traveled to America to take part in the International Shotokan Karate Federation Masters Camp. They were up early, participating in workshops all day and competing in the competition.

They were part of Team NZ and placed 3rd overall in the Team Kata discipline. In the individual open Kata, both girls made it through to the second round which they were very proud of. In the youth Kata, Grace won all her individual matchups. In the finals, the girls were amazing with Te Aomarama achieving 1st place and Grace 2nd place. 

They said it was an amazing experience and they met some wonderful people. The have now been invited to compete in Italy next year and are also on the road to 'Worlds' in London next year.
