Last week we sent our Year 9/10 Ki o Rahi Team to compete in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton). 

We are super proud of our team, who won 2 of 6 games, with the top teams being Hamilton Boys/Girls and Rakaumanga from the same rohe. The standard of competition is so high that winning a game requires teams to be at 100%. Fulton and Acacia did a stellar job defending tupu (centre barrel), with Tawhai coming in to assist. Leon, Kobi, Tawhai, Meadow, and Justin always looked dangerous on attack. Manaia was instrumental in scoring points as Taniwha. Jhy was great at finding space where needed. Rawinia, Grace, and Vanya worked hard on the fringes of Te Ao, with only 1 sub for the girls. The best shot on Tupu went to Oscar vs our hardest opponent, Mana college. Alex, Alaura and Pirihira missed the tournament due to injury (Alex) and other circumstances. An amazing effort team!

As an aside note, the accommodation at Fairfield College marae ( Ti Iho Rangi) whare nui is a sight to behold!
